Welcome to Safe Kids Livingston County, a Chapter of public and private organizations working together to prevent injuries to children. While the unintentional injury death rate among children ages 14 and under declined 30 percent from 1987 to 1996, unintentional injury remains the leading cause of death among children in this age group in the United States. One out of every four children, or more than 14 million children ages 14 and under, sustain injuries that are serious enough to require medical attention each year. These injuries have enormous financial, emotional and social effects on not only the child and the family, but the community and society as a whole. Safe Kids Livingston County Chapter members have a passion to protect children and help them grow up safe and healthy
